Our latest Adventure is Lee’s invite to be an ‘inspector’ on BBC2’s The Restaurant. Here are a few of the most asked questions from our customers:
Q1: How did you wangle a slot on the show?
Lee: It was Raymond who asked me to take part. We go a long way back. I used to work for him at le Petit Blanc before I left to start my own business. Not only do we share the same passion for brilliant food, service and quality, we also trust and respect each other.
Q2: So what makes you a good inspector?
Lee: I know what it’s like to run a restaurant. I’ve got seven of them. I know a lot about getting the right people, the right food and the right look to make them a hit. And though we’re successful now, we went through some tough times especially when we were starting out. I know what the pressures are. I’m also a complete foodie.
Q3: Tell me about your day job.
Lee: I’m a director and head foodie here at Peach. My job is to ensure our customers always get great food, wine, service and a great time. I’m always in our restaurants trying the food, checking out the service, talking to our chefs about new menus and coming up with fresh ideas.
Q4: What’s it like working with Raymond?
Lee: He’s an amazingly inspirational person. He’s built a fantastic business empire and is someone everyone admires. He’s also a very shrewd judge. He just seems to have an instinct for who’s got it and who hasn’t.
